UNCOMMON OBJECTS
During this project, we were initially tasked with creating seemingly random markings using random objects given to us. We covered these objects with india ink, and created shapes and patterns with them.
We then were told to use said markings to create a wordmark which was not only legible, but reflected the imagery of the markings themselves.
Throughout the process of creating this project, I debated which word to choose. Based on each style of marking created I brainstormed many different possibilities. In the end, I chose "Dread" based on the skull-esque markings.
I used a scanner to capture these marks digitally while maintaining a high level of quality. It allowed me to not only use the main shapes I made, but the smaller ink dots present on the page. I then arranged these markings using photoshop, before adding blending modes, and adjusting the contrast to make the composition as high quality as possible.

My design solution is effective due to it capturing the feeling given by the markings, and being a unique word choice.
